FIRE IN MIND SERVICES

Fire In Mind and Kate Lawrence offer a range of services to community and businesses in relation to bushfire risk.

Kate is a warm, engaging and stimulating speaker and trainer, who has been thinking and speaking about bushfires for over five years.   Bushfire awareness is an on-going process of learning, planning and remembering to pay attention.  We all need to be reminded and inspired to take more steps, individually and collectively, to develop our capacity to live with and respond to bushfire.

Services offered by Fire In Mind include:

Bushfire education workshops and classes: Kate Lawrence has been teaching and facilitating community bushfire education for the past four seasons and is an interesting and knowledgeable educator.  A combination of practical and theoretical education and discussion over a series of classes has been extremely well received in her local community.  She is available to run classes and workshops in community settings around Australia.

Community engagement and consultation:  Kate Lawrence is a member of the International Association of Facilitators and a skilled and experienced community engagement specialist.  She has worked with many communities and groups, planning and developing meaningful and satisfying ways to construct conversations and develop greater understanding and solutions. Business Planning for bushfire: Businesses are often forgotten in bushfire planning, yet not only is the danger just as great, overarching statutory obligations to employees and customers on premises require plans and procedures be developed.  Most material available refers to obligations to immediately evacuate a  burning building.  This makes no sense in a bushfire and may place people at serious risk of injury or death.  Other plans and discussions are needed.  Kate Lawrence is an experienced facilitator and community bushfire educator.  She is a lawyer of 17 years standing, as well as more recently working in local government and for the CFA.
